Hello All,

Has anyone ever use this debt settlement company in Chicago? The co. name is Franklin Debt Relief. They will help clients negotiate a less amount to pay credit card co. Anybody know any feedback about this company? Please advise.

Sorry I had not heard of this company, but if you search the better business bureau site at Untitled you may find them listed there.

Debt settlement companies usually have you pay in a given amount of money, they hold on to it holding out as long as they can to get the lowest deal on the settlement offer, they don't negotiate the reporting so the credit report will showed paid for less then full balance.

That looks negative to future lenders, and is a good reason if you can to instead negotiate settlement directly with the creditor or collection agency yourself. You can ask for deletion of the account listing, or ask that they report paid in full instead of settled for less.
