    PBM,
The search function problem on CreditNet is really becoming a headache. I know you have had this burden for some time, but it is still clearly causing trouble.

The symptoms are that you enter search criteria and hit SUBMIT and the blue bar creeps forever at the bottom of the browser eventually (after 5 minutes or so) you either get, "404 PAGE NOT FOUND", or your search completes with expected results working properly but again after WAY too much of a wait.

It appears that a timeout of sorts occurs because as soon as you hear the "click" (my sounds are set to click when you transfer between web pages) almost IMMEDIATELY (as it should) the jelsoft software completes the search and will display the results.

Yet MOST of the time (95%) you get the timeout where NOTHING happens.

I would be happy to be a test subject to work with you one on one to run searches until the problem is discovered and can be fixed. Please send me an email and we can work out a time where we both are in front of machines and can confront the problem.

    Thanks,
    -Peace, Dave

    Hi Nave,

I cannot tell whether the problem is getting worse but it appears to be failing for quite a number of people. Interestingly enough, I have not been able to reproduce the problem on my end. It may take it a long time but it always comes back.

Do you use the search button in the navigation bar, or the one at the bottom of each page? Have you tried it both ways? If so, do you get a timeout using either search method?

    Sincerely,
    pbm

Sent you some screen capture images and process.

I ALWAYS use the yellow search button above the messages in the TODAY POST SEARCH ACCOUNT LOGOUT buttons.

    The URL is "http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/search2.php?s="

I will try searching using alternate means such as searching from the text box at the bottom of the page as well as searching for user's posts after selecting a username...and I will let you know the results.

    -Peace, Dave

Seems to have no rhyme or reason.

Earlier today I was searching to test the different methods and it was doing great. All searches occured in a very reasonable time if not fairly quickly.

Tonight, searching as usual...slow to never, and slow took the last train outta town.

I am having the same problem. It works about 1 in 10 times. If it helps I have AOL, but it also happens on IE through my cable connection.

Me, too. It is kinda hit and miss. I am not AOL if that helps.

I am on AOL and have not been able to search CN on AOL for weeks.

Searches on IE are slow, but do work consistently for me.

We are aware of the problem but do not have an ETA for a fix at this time.

Anything new to report on the search problems? I am unable to use search at all (it always times out)...I use AOL browser and am on a T1 line...really need to be able to use "search" for help on current problems so any suggestions would be appreciated...
