I noticed that when searching for topics and reading some of the older posts (some as recent as 6 months ago), they reference pages that are missing or say things like "see this thread", pointing to a thread that has evolved into a few dozen pages.

Just a thought - a better way to organize the FAQs might be to use a wiki. Has this site ever tried one?

    Hi Sparq,

Thanks for your suggestions. Can you give us an example of a search result that contains either dead links or a link to a post containing multiple pages? Especially the ones from just a few months ago.

Also, we are in the process of revamping our FAQ/Learning Center section. It appears the old unofficial Creditnet FAQ site, which was actually put together and hosted by a member of the board (and not Creditnet, hence "unofficial"), is down, most likely because the domain name was not renewed. Creditnet actually already has good FAQ sections under the Learning Center tab; please feel free to let us know if you'd like to see any other FAQ answered.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

I'm bumping this after reading through some of the "sticky" posts and finding volumes out outdated information. For example a lot of the "must read" posts are several years old -- some as old as 2001. A lot has changed since then, and quite a few posts / links are broken (one example: http://consumers.creditnet.com/Discussions/credit-talk/t-validation-must-reads-37975.html)

Since we see so many people posting the same questions over and over, it appears that a lot of people simply don't read the stickies. I'm guessing this is probably a combination of disorganization and the sheer number of them (do we really need 9?). It may be time to revisit some of those stickies, or do something (like a wiki) a bit more modern.

If we stick with the idea of stickies (!), it might be worthwhile rephrasing some of them. Such as a "What to do when you're sued" sticky, an "All about judgements" sticky, a "Strategy guide" sticky, a "how to ask for help" sticky, and so on.

I certainly don't mind answering the same questions over and over, but it may be of more use to the general public to have common questions placed up-front and organized. I mean, just look at those titles; which thread is best for a consumer who just received a summons? Which thread tells them what to do after their validation is completed?
