Etrade*???

Anybody have an insight on eTrade? Is it legit? Anybody buy/sell stocks with them or open a savings account? I am looking for a savings account where I absolutely can't get to the funds quickly, and still get a good return.

I use ShareBuilder. They have $4 trades if you set them up for Tuesdays instead of doing real-time trades.

But it's a trading account, not a savings account. Funds are not guaranteed. You can make money, you can lose money.

Depending how long you want to not be able to get to it, you might want to consider a CD. You can get them for periods of time ranging from 30 days to several years.

You can also look into high yield savings accounts. The rates on these accounts aren't nearly as high as CD's, but you're able to take your money out any time without a penalty.
