Hey folks,

I'm Tim. I found this forum while figuring out how to repair my credit. Right now I got about $17k of debt, about 80% of it charged off. My goal is get most of it cleared or settled in the next 1-2 years. Right now my credit scores are around 530-560. That kinda sucks because I'm having a hard time getting a decent apartment as I have to move in about a couple of months.

Anyway I have already started reading, and glad to have found this place. Just thought I'd say Hi.

Welkom Tim, and I hear ya about the apartment credit. When I first came to the US, I had no credit...so imagine how hard it was for me to rent a place.

The ONLY way I was able to get an apartment was to offer double deposit, and sign a month to month lease. I found a nice place in a nice area, but it was hard work, and I had to really sell myself as a good potential tenant to do it.

Now I know I shoulda gone to a real estate office that has rentals, and got them to find a place for me. That might be what ya could do.
