Sample Letter Forum

I read somewhere that there is a sample letter forum on here for registered users. So I registered, but still can't find it. How do i find it?

I'm trying to write a debt validation letter and am looking for verbiage that requests proof that the collection agency purchased the debt from the original creditor.

Lots of good stuff on here. Thanks for all the advice.

They do not need to tell you that they purchased the debt from the original creditor. In fact, they can just have the account assigned to them and still be able to collect the debt.

A debt validation is proof that the debt is yours and the amount is computed correctly. Just write a simple letter asking them to provide proof that this is your debt, and an accounting of how the balance was computed.

Only as far as has been stated.

There is another element that validation establishes: The claimant has the right to collect.

That seems to have been missed in the rush. Obtaining validation from the OC is key here.

I would have to agree on that one. I missed that step myself and was pretty embarrassed.
