You guys are going to think I am a pest, I found this site and now I have a zillion questions!!! So sorry in advance, :lol

I have been working with Lexington Law for both myself and my husband for the last year or so, they have been doing a great job.

But I have noticed that Equifax really tries to jerk me around. The big thing with them is they have some accounts listed as Account type:Unknown - credit extension, review, or collection Pay Status: Current Current

Now I am thinking that just the word collection is not good especially since it is not remotely the case.

Example two months a WaMu card that had been closed months ago, that was listed as Type: Credit Card Pay Status: Current was suddenly with no explaination changed to Account type:Unknown - credit extension, review, or collection Pay Status: Current Current

I called WaMu, got a letter that stated we closed the account, it was in good standing and sent it to Equifax. That one got changed back. Now this month they changed a Chrysler account that was listed as Condition - Closed Auto Loan to Open and Unknown - credit extension, review, or collection. This is a car loan from 1997! We haven't had that car in years and they suddenly opened it back up.

What do I do to fix this stuff? The other scores are in the 650s but Equifax has my husband at 610!!

It is not clear that either of these two cases is negatively affecting your scores, as long as they are not coded as collection accounts, and are showing $0 balance.

What information is different between you and your husband, that might account for the 40 point difference?

I am sorry I wasn't very clear, the 40 point difference is all with my husband. Transunion is 666, Experian is 653 and Equifax is 610. The only differences when you look at the different bureaus is that where Transunioin and Experian will have the Type as charge account or credit card, Equifax has it listed as Unknown - credit extension, review or collection.

Are you specifically pulling FICO scores in all cases?

No. What is the difference between the others and FICO? Sorry, I'm a newbie

You can't trust the various proprietary CRA scores to be comparable to eachother, or to FICO. You want to compare apples with apples, especially when you are looking at only 40 point differences. The automated "advice" often provided with scores is also often erroneous.

Pull actual FICO scores via myFICO.com, and see how they compare. That is closer to what your creditors are looking at anyway.

Before you spend money and effort that might result in removing accounts that might not even be affecting you negatively, find out where you really stand.

Hello, Not sure if this is same as mine but think so I have had account closed in good standing. This company is now out of business. Has always reported current pays as agreeded etc. However lately via truecredit says current for both Experian, Trans union $0 balance but for Equifax showing same as the orginal poster

Unknown - credit extension, review, or collection
    Pay Status: Current

And it's listed as charge card for Trans Union and experian however just above remarks for Equifax.

That's exactly how mine is. They did it with two cards a couple months ago and I got letters from the companies and they fixed it, but now they did the same thing with a Chrysler account that was closed years ago and in addition changed it to an open account.

Did you notice a corresponding drop in scores when they changed it?

Yes it did go down slightly. Equifax has a bunch of these on my husband's credit in addition to one's they randomly throw on out of the blue and I thought that might account for the 40 point difference.

I'm getting the same thing from Equifax as well and it dropped from 639 to 596 in 1 month!

They are also reviving old accounts that were included in Chap 7 back in Feb 2004 that had since then been reporting as IIB Chap 7, Status: Unrated, $0 balance.

Now some are showing as Collection, Charged Off .. or Paid Collection after Charge Off ... and several other accounts that were either 60 or 90 days past due as of Feb 2004 ... and the Status always indicated as such and then Chap 7 Filed in Feb ... are now showing up 60 days Past Due Feb 2004, 120 Days Past Due March, Charge Off ... and in Status it just says "Petitioned for Chap 7" ....

    They are all such *******s.

TransUnion was all of a sudden reporting 3 Cap One accounts that were IIB in Feb 2004 as all of a sudden 90 and 120 Past Due as of Sept and Oct 2006 ... it took me 2 times disputing and they finally corrected that, but then my Nov report came in and now TU is showing an old account that was also in the Feb 2004 Chap 7 as now "Transferred or Sold to Another Lender, Collection, Paid after Charge Off"

    WTF !!!!

    These people just never stop!

It has became too much for me to handle, I think I'm going to go back to the Attorney who handled my Chap 7 and see if I can retain him again so he can get all this straightened out for me.

At first I really didn't care about sueing or getting any money from there, but all of a sudden in the last 2-3 months all the Bureau's have ben going crazy and screwing everything up, and as well the old credit card companies as well ... now I'm thinking I should go ahead and look into filing suit against all these companies - they have caused me such stress and have lowerd my scores and kept my scores low and preventing them from having a chance to rise over time.
