I couldn't believe it! Asked if I wanted it in 3-5 days for a fee...and of course, just because I am flipping out, and want to actually feel it in my hands... I did it...hahahha...In a matter of two months of working on my CR, I have gotten 3 new CCs...Haven't had any in 5 or 6 years...this is awesome...anyone know what my credit limit might be? any guesses? It didn't tell me...but isn't PLATINUM a good limit? or is that just something they like to throw around and sound good? I mean, I have never heard of like a $300 PLATINUM card...hahahaha...anyone know? Said I should receive an email with customer info...keep checking...havent received it yet...hope the site didnt screw up...hahaha...im paranoid
Okay, I just called them because I was freaking out a little as I hadn't received an email confirmation or anything. And he said it takes about 24 hours to process, but that I was approved!....and my credit limit is $200...hahahahhahaha...PLATINUM...hahahahha....oh well, I ain't complaining, believe-you-me...I'll take it...at least it isn't secured14%APR too...could be worse
It is!!!! Just wait until you need to make a payment on the card then you will find out how much worse it is. They want you to do a check on line for a nominal charge of only #12.00. You can beat that price by turning that silly idea down and doing a Wal-Mart Money gram. Here is the info you will need to do that. A routing number which is 3757 Send it to HCSUSA That will only cost you $6.00 every time you need to make a payment. Best you just run the card up to the limit and then pay it all off but maybe $5.00 then sit back and wait to see what happens. I'll bet they will give you a CL increase and maybe up to as much as $300 to maybe even $500. Then run that up to the limit and pay it down to about $10 and put the dumb thing in your sock drawer. $6.00 to pay off a $5 or $10 payment every month? Now what is your effective APR? I'll bet you are so happy about that bit of news that you could just ????
before you apply for anything you should read all the small print. cards like orchard and first premire will sock it to you. they make their profits off of the interest and the fees. why? because they have you hostage. they know you need/want the credit and will be willing to pay the fees to have their card. on a side note you should really stop applying for cards. the hard inqs will lower your score. and all inqs will make you look like you are desperate for credit to other potential lenders. a couple of years ago i was where you are. don't rush it. if you work hard your score will rise. and when it rises to an acceptable level the prime offers will find you. two years ago i had an orchard bank visa that i had for awhile with a 1000 limit. that i paid on a somewhat regular basis. since i started rebuilding my credit i've done pretty well. first premire - $450 limit. (i will be dropping this card on its one year anniversary i no longer need it. but they did approve me when no one else would). american express charge card washington mutual visa - $2000 limit shell gas - $700 limit (i hope at it's one year they'll switch it to a shell visa). bank of america choice hotels reward card - $5000 limit target card - $300 limit orchard bank visa - $1600 limit (no fees). when i started repairing my credit my score was 590 a little over a year later my average score is at 670. it can be done. good luck.
HIGH Interest Rates!!! I too have an Orchard Bank Card, and it has been a nightmare. I have had the account for about 6 months, never missed a payment, in fact its been paid off a few times. Last week I got this piece of paper in the mail. Long story short, it stated I was going from fixed 14.9% APR to a variable 28.99% APR based on my history with them! Not making sence to you? Me either. So it will just get paid off this week and closed and I cant wait to see what lovely fees they charge to close an account. Ill keep you posted.
