Update...no reply from Regent to second DV...their 30 days are now up under the TFC. Sent DV to Hudson as well, and they did not respond within the required 30 days either. Needless to say, this matter has been put to rest. Woooohooo!!!!! My sister is now going to check her reports to see that Hudson has removed the tradeline. This should help her on her mortgage.

    Hello,

Brand new here. I found this forum bc I did a search for Hudson & Keys. I just got a voicemail from them on my work phone. I have not called them back and I probably won't but I have a few questions.

    What is a DV?
How do I find out what the SOLs is on a debt? I think the reason they are calling me is bc I moved out of an apartment on Dec. 31st of 2005 as my lease said I was to. I gave notice on November 30th that I would not be renewing. A few months later I got a letter from Hunter Warfield stating that I owed $2687.50 because my lease was not up until January 31st 2006. I mailed a letter and faxed a letter to the person from Hunter Warfield that I was corresponding with asking for a copy of the lease with my signature on it stating that my lease was up in Jan. 06 on May 19th, 2006. I never received it. I mailed and faxed another letter on May 23rd restating my request and asked them to not call me at work anymore. I received no more letters or phone calls and the report was listed as in dispute on my credit report. I heard nothing further until I wrote the credit burea one month ago asking for this to be removed since I had not received proper verification that I owed this debt. Now I am getting letters from Hudson & Keys stating that I owe the debt. So a new collection agency and now I'm receiving phone calls and letters after not getting anything for 2 years on this just because I contacted the credit bureas to remove this. Is this legal?
What should I do in your all's opinions. I almost wish I didn't contact the credit bureas to remove it since no one was bugging me about this until then. It's been almost 4 years since this started.

    Thanks in advance!

Just a reminder...There is no time period for response specified in the FDCPA. Technically, they don't ever have to reply to your DV (and many don't). The legal restriction is that they are not allowed to "continue collection activity" until they have provided verification of the debt in the form of the name and address of the OC or information about the debt that was provided by the OC.

Check the credit reports, your sister may need to dispute the tradelines through the CRAs to get them to go away.
