Could someone tell me what web site to go to find out the rules & regulations CA's are suppose to follow. I've tried Yahoo seach but I didn't find anything that goes into detail. Maybe I'm not putting in the right info. I live in Michigan. Thanks.
That's OK but I like http://www.fdcpaexpert.com much better. That has the FDCPA annotated. The difference is the same as the difference between reading any statute book and reading the annotated versions at the law library. You not only get the law but you also get the court rulings that show how the courts have ruled for each section of the law. On the fdcaexpert.com site some of the cases are linked to and many others you need a subscription to Westlaw or one of the other services. Also if it was a federal case you can take the case style and number and look it up on Pacer where you get all of the documents that were filed in the case. That does cost as well but it isn't as expensive as westlaw. To make all of that simple, the statutes are the law as written while the annotated statutes tell us what the courts have ruled that the law says and what it means as well as how it is applied. Then we don't make so many mistakes in the interpretations.
Yes, it is a good overview indeed but doesn't tell us which sections of FDCPA his comments apply to nor does it give any links to the cases he lists. He just leaves it to his readers to correlate what he talks about to the law. We already know what leaving it to the readers of such commentaries leads to no matter how expert the author might be. And yes, Ed Combs is considered to be one of America's leading consumer advocacy attorneys.
