hey just checked my report and a KNOLOGY bill was sent to CMI but theres no contect info on them or anything ...who are the they ..i want to send them a pay to delete letter so anything will help thanks Jesse
Or it could be... CMIGroup.com. I dealth with CMI group (credit Management inc). They refused my pay for delete.

I spent an hour on the phone with them regarding an alleged alarm monitoring bill...the rep confirmed verbally that it belonged to someone with a different SSN, but refused to put this in writing (so if you call them, be sure you are recording.) They then claimed later that it was my debt and that "collection efforts would continue".
CMI is a Texas corporation which is bound by the Texas Financial Code. I'm not an attorney in Texas but, it is my understanding that the TFC prescribes that when a Texas resident requests or when a Texas corporation receives a request for validation/dispute, they must provide validation within 30 days regardless of whether the aforesaid request is timely in terms of FDCPA standards. That said, I would request validation pursuant to the TFC and see if they take any continued collection activity before providing validation to you.
