I have no idea what happened after the settlement, if they ended up selling the remaining part or not, if so its still doesn't make sense since this law firm is trying to collect on everything (and actually more than it ever was). They have been a PITA to deal with thus far (I am sure they all are!) so it wouldn't surprise me if this letter on HSBC NV/DMB letterhead with a signature stating they are deleting from my tradelines wouldn't be good enough for the stupid law firm. Oh, and how long does it generally take to get that Green Return Reciept Card back in the mail? Its been like a week and a half now, and still nothing :dunno: Thanks!
It depends on the people who accept it. It may take a few weeks and the worst case they do not accept it all. I would give it a month and you are nw almost halfway through that. Keep us posted.
Thanks! I'll definitely keep you posted I got the greencard back the other day, shows they received it on the 29th of March. Still nothing from them, fine by me! So what happens, if I don't receive anything from them within 30 days?
A CA is not required to respond to you within 30 days. They must stop all collection until the dispute has been verified.
Thanks! I guess for some reason I thought it was 30 days they had, I know that I only had 30 days to respond to theirs but I also thought it was the same on my end. Is it safe to assume then, if I do not hear anything from them that they likely dropped me from their radar? I am fully ready to send them over proof from HSBC NV/DMB that this was taken care of and deleted, but I hope the verfication I sent takes care of it. How long should I wait for?? Or I guess, what should my next steps be?
No. In my case the CA hasn't responded to me, but they still maintain and re-verify their entry in my credit report. Now, we'll see if they respond to the Notice of Small Claim...
Thankfully the law firm is NOT reporting to the credit reports. The OC was, and I disputed that with them a few weeks ago which is how I received the letter stating it was taken care of and deleted, I just checked yesterday and indeed it has been removed from all 3 CRA's. This is no longer on my reports, now lets hope it stays this way!! I just hope they can't verify, they shouldn't be able to, but you never know what they pull out.
