What's up with Cap One?

I was reviewing my Trans Union CR (which is getting cleaner and cleaner) and noticed the Capital One has done an Account Review (AR) every month since I had the card.

What's up with that? 21% isn't enough for them? Are they looking for something to hang me with?

I can understand an annual review, but monthly seems a bit excessive to me.

Cap1 also looks for other business opportunties with current customers, they will pull your report for any clues to potential product "sales", i.e home equity loans, auto loans & refinancing, MORE credit cards!, etc.

As your reports get cleaner and cleaner you will start to see more and more "mailers" from Cap1 for nearly every imaginable financial product.

ARs aren't just for jacking... but for CLIs as well; and rate-reductions as well...

Usually you are correct, but not with Crap1. I have this straight from the horse's mouth at Crap1:

    1. Whatever program you are in with the card when you get it, that is your program for life with that card. They will not upgrade that card to a better program. In this instance, the pulls are solely for rate jacking purposes.

    2. Crap1 will agressively try to sell you everything they can - so that when they drive you into BK they are the biggest bag-holder. That explains the other reason for the soft pulls.

I thought it might be something like that...

All the more reason to put them on the "pay-off-and-close" list for after
    I refinancing the CC's.
