When I checked TC this morning I noticed that on my Equifax report, I have lost 6 PR's...BK13 is gone, and a combo of judgements... so I checked equifax directly since TC has been funky.... is this just a weird fluke because I am disputing these? I mean I have disputed before and they always came back as verified.... I never saw them gone before. I think I am supposed to just sit tight and see, I rec'vd NO updates on score change as a result of these 6 items being gone from Equifax, since they range from 3-6 yrs old??????
They very well could be gone, did you remove any old address information? This often helps remove negs as it is harder to verify information. Also, sometimes the second or third dispute "takes", and you hit the person that does not bother to verify, or catch them at the busy time. If it seems "too good to be true", just monitor your reports directly with the CRAs. Also, give your score some time to catch up, sometimes a few days of proceesing are required.
let their be light... yes bizwiz41, I had my old address deleted, but then when I looked at the Equifax report and TC I noticed the old address was back on their as my previous address. But the TC report from 4/20, and my Equifax report from 4/18 shows the old address gone....so that is why I'm wondering if it's just a fluke. I'm sure the possibility of it coming back verified AGAIN does exist if/when the look at the address info again...should I dispute that again?
Help me out here, as I'm a bit confused. Are the "negs" gone? Or are they showing up again? If they were removed (even for a day or two), then you MUST be notified of reinsertion (under the FCRA). Give the reports a few days to settle, then pull and review. If the "old" address info is there, call and inquire as to why re-inserted. I do not think "old negs" once removed will reappear just due to old addy info showing up. Need some details, perhaps a better timeline of events to sort this out.
sorry for the confusion The "negs" are most definately GONE! It is the old address that is back. I have been disputing old address info, and the negs for 2 months now. I have a hard copy Equifax report and "update" that was dated and mailed April 12th & the old address info was gone, but the "negs" still there on that report. It is the online reports as of 4/18/07 that reflect the "negs" being gone. The reports I pulled yesterday show the address "back" on, but the negs still gone. I am just worried that because some things are still under "investigation" with the other CRA's that it will come back verified. I know that I have to wait and see on those. Address has been deleted off of TU, went off of Equifax(came back), and Experian won't budge.. said it is tied to creditor info and is historical data.
720mstry, hope things are shaping up for you I tried to get an address removed from my report and couldn't do it because it was considered "historical" data. How can it be if I've never lived there? It's the address of an ex mother-in-law and I've NEVER given her address for anything. Why it's on my report, I have no clue. I don't get it.
I had a similiar thing happen with Transunion. I disputed old names and addys and when they deleted one particular addy it took all the debts associated with that addy off too. I was stunned! Then I feared my file was "split", I called TU and asked them to check my SSN for additional records and they found none. They've been gone ever since. I wasn't going to complain lol, less disputes to have to do since they were all innacurate anyhow. TU also had thier addy listed as my addy, doh, I sent a letter and asked them for rent! That was the fastest deletion I have ever had, lol. Good luck! But keep your eye on it in case they migrate back somehow. CRAs are weird. Tegleg
I 've had removed addys show back up after a TL updated. I called, they said it was the data furnisher I needed to talk too to correct it. The 'we're not responsible" thing agian. No surprise there!
It really is the furnishers of information which re-report once deleted address information. It can be very frustrating but, once you get the subject furnisher deleted so does the previous address. It is ecspecially frustrating when such furnishers report the address and the credit reporting agencies place it as the current one. Trans Union is notorious for this. Not really a big deal in of itself however, it can present problems with GE Money Bank which likes to pull both Equifax and Trans Union. When those two addresses are different, they issue the "cannot verify identity letter." Makes getting a Lowe's and Wal-Mart account somewhat difficult.
How old is the old address? If it is five years or more, they should have no issue in removing it. If it is less than two years, then there is a "historical" need question that has some validity. In between 2-5 years gets a bit into the gey zone.
Thank you so much! I have a real challenge ahead of me with Experian... they are giving me the historical address line as well. Which CRA are you talking about?
thank goodness i didn't get excited! I rec've an email from Equifax...my score has plummeted to 494 (Fico) 1. Mtg company that previsouly updated pays on time..no lates...yeah well it says current paid/was 120 past due. Then the mtg company said we rec'vd your correspondance requesting a credit report correct, but unfortunately we do not have enough information to assist with that request, please contact us at 1-800-xxx-xxxx. 2. A medical judgement that I disputed that said "in dispute", now says "appealed" medical (never saw that before) 3. I disputed with Verizon, the accounts were marked in dispute, it was two accounts, and the account numbers don't match what is on my phone bill (land line) not wireless.. well I asked them to validate in writing, and they wrote me back and said that they are not subject to the laws of a debt collector, but they are reporting these as collection accounts, and I know that Verizon states they do report to the credit bureaus. I'm confused because when I sold my house and I was moving, I was told I could just transfer my existing service, then I had to pay a deposit, but they refunded me the deposist a yr ago. So I don't know HOW I have accounts in collection and they are notorious for making you pay and past due balances or anything before you can make changes to service. * I don't know what to do with this one* The letter they sent me didn't make much sense. 4. More medical collections but they are all with the same company. On my credit report there are 2 accounts. I disputed them, they show marked as in dispute, account IIB. Well, on Equifax, my dismissed BK13, is GONE, but this CA sent me a letter after I sent them validation letter: The letter lists 14 account numbers *I only listed 2* and then it says thank you for your correspondance, we have updated to the Credit Bureaus at your request that all the above accounts should reflect "Included in Bankruptcy" GROAN, SIGH, GROAN What do I do with these? Thanks in Advance
They may not be *GONE* until you receive the results of the investigation; occasionally disputed information gets masked to keep it from being disclosed until it has been verified.
