I disputed a ca with experian and it came back as verified, i sent a dv to the ca and as of have not recieved a response, so how are they verifying? With tu i disputed two ca accounts for the same debt both are reporting current(the investigation is not over).i have sent dv letters to these ca once before. equifax delete both and exp delted only one. How is one cr are able to verify and the other cant. Are these Ca in violation for reporting and they havent sent me validation. also one is not showing up as disputed on my cr.
There are a few possibilities to explain your situation; 1) Your Equifax disputes may have been "luck", you happened to hit them at a busy time, and the CA did not bother to verify 2) Your Experian dispute was accurate, if you have two accounts for the same debt, then the CA verified only one was accurate, 3) Your TU disputes could still be waiting on the CA, this may be in your favor if they have not verified quickly. Generally, the longer it takes to verify, the greater the chances it will not be verified, and will be deleted. 4) The CA is not verifying correctly, they may be just automatically "verifying" electronically. It is always best to send the Validation Request before you dispute with the CRAs. The CA is not in violation for not labeling the account in dispute if you've sent the DV after the dispute. As for the response to the DV, by law a CA is required to respond if you dispute the debt within 30 days of receiving the first notice from the CA. If you sent it after that, there is no time limit for response. Your next action should be for the "verified" accounts from the CRAs, send a written request (Certified Mail Return Receipt Requsted-CMRRR) requesting detail of how verified. They must respond to this request, but most likely all you will get is the name and address of the CA. From there you must fight to make a case for improper/incomplete verification. It is risky to try and use one CRA deletion against another CRA. You could redispute the verified tradelines using the deletion of one CRA as "evidence" of inability to verify. However, when the CRA forwards this evidence, it may "wake up" the CRA to the error, and open you to possible reinsertion. Are these CA accounts paid? How old are they? How many times have you disputed? When did you send the DV letter, and how long had the account been active since you sent the DV letter? A bit more detail, and perhaps we can help more.
Countless disputed accounts are not verified externally, but the CRA uses matching address, SSN, consumer name, and other details to verify it without taking the time--or spending the money--to have the furnisher verify the account. Dispute and delete as many old addresses as possible, resubmit the dispute with the CRA, specifically use the US Mails, and specifically use the word reinvestigate. Computer scanners read your letters, so getting the scanner to recognize the keywords is vital.
