Hi, I'll try to make this short. I had five judgements for back child support from 1998 to 2000. I had wage garnishment and my tax returns were taken every year from 1999 until 2005 when the last payment was made. I got all three credit reports back in early 2005 and the judgements were only showing on my TU report , the last one was due to come off this month. In december 2005 I applied for a car loan and got my reports again. Now TU is showing these five paid judgements as paid tax liens, all paid in 8/2005 and date of removal 7/2012. Is this right ? Shouldn't they be marked as paid judgements , or actually be removed since they are all past 7 years from date filed. (or am I just screwed for another 5 years)

PS .... I disputed them with TU and surprise, surprise ... now they are on showing up on experian too, I haven't checked EQ yet.
Dug myself a deeper grave I guess

    any advice ?????????

Paid judgments will remain 7-7.5 years after the date they were paid, not the date filed.

Are these judgements labeled as a "Tax Lien" on your credit reports? Is the reporting agency a state or local government? The reporting period is seven years for child support, you need to review the FCRA, see Sec 622.

    Back to basics:

Delete and/or dispute the old addresses and write to any and all CRA's with this simple letter: These accounts are inaccurate, please correct them or delete them.

    Tank you berry muchly
