Hi. I have three addresses on my report. Each CRA has them in a different order, and only one of them has it right. The oldest is about 4 years old, but is still the address I use for auto insurance. Does it affect me negatively in any way that the addresses are scrambled?

    thanks,

These scrambled order addresses will not hurt you per se. What does hurt is having older previous addresses if your are trying to dispute some older tradelines. Often the verification is done by simply providing an address to identify you. If you have older previous addresses on your credit report, your risk is having greater opportunity to verify.

If you are trying to repair your credit, it is one of the "basics" to remove all old or previous addresses, that are older then 2-3 years.

What if your address has a description of Military? (I've never been in the military) Could that cause some kind of problem?

<BUMP> on this as well; also, what is the procedure for getting old addresses actually removed from your report? I filed a dispute with TU a few days ago in which the addresses were in the wrong order - but I have an address from 2003 on the report that would RULE if it disappeared.

What's the MO on this? How can you get an address completely removed?

You can submit requests for "corrections" to personal information in writing, on-line, or even over the phone. I recommend either in writing, or on-line.

Not to be dense, but so many things related to credit repair must be done carefully. Do you just tell them that your current address is XXX and your prior address is YYY, and that all other addresses are incorrect?

    thanks,

Inaccurate and/or obsolete works well. Keep in mind that they often re-appear as creditors report and that Experian typically won't address them in terms of re-investigations.
