Should ask for a credit increase or a new card?

I have had a Platinum MC from HSBC bank Nevada for about 9 months now. They gave me a $300 credit limit and all payments have been made on time. My question is; when I applied for the card my credit scores were in the low 600's. After cleaning up my credit my score (with the exception of EX) I would like to get more credit. Am I better off asking for a credit increase on this card or should I apply for a new HSBC card?
Also I hear HSBS pulls mostly for EQ in Arizona. Is this true?

    Thanks!

You can ask but they won't give you one. You just have to wait for one. After 1 year you will get an increase of $100.00, or at least you should. Make sure the card is paid off for a while. It shouldn't be that hard with only a $300 limit.

You can ask for a raise in your credit limit without them offering you one. i asked for an increase out of the blue- at least 6 months after using the card well, and they increased it, to about 30% of original value.

But depends on your card, credit file, and how well you have used the card.
HINT: if you have used the card well then they will see you have had regular activity and use it.
