So last night, the phone rings and it's Discover Card thanking me for being an excellent customer (i.e. keeping a large balance and paying > 20% APR). However, they noticed that I now have a zero balance (OMG!) and would like to know what they can do to keep me as a customer (oh...I don't know, erase my memories of having to pay 30% interest?) so I say, "Well the interest rate is kind of important to me." The ever cheerful telephone solicitor replies, "Well, how about I lower your interest rate for new purchases to 5.9% until the end of the year, effective immediately?" "Well, that sounds good. Thanks!" "Thank you for using Discover card!" Oh, you betcha.
...and, just to make it more tempting They upped my credit limit. Have they no shame? (I know...silly question.)
I don't really have anything to add to this post; I just thought it was very well written with the humor. Nice job on the post. It made me smile...."erase the memory...ha ha ha."
