2nd question: Possible bad move w/CA?

On another note, I called another collection agency today (yes, I know I should have sent them a letter but one of their entries was for a medical bill and I felt guilty), and found out that a $255 entry on my credit report was actually, again, from my ex-fiance for a utility account that we transferred to his name when I moved out. Because we were not married, the CA told me that they had to take my name off this entry and that it would be removed from my credit report within 30 days. They are also deleting the medical bill (a piddly $60) from my credit reports 'because I had them process a check by phone for the full $60 and I called them in a goodwill effort to resolve an account that was over 4 years old'. They are also sending me a receipt via postal mail.

Q: Was this a bad move on my part? It seems like an unlikely thing for a CA to do.

I will follow up, either with validation or humiliation as appropriate. ;)

I deserve that bridge, or a swift kick....I need to severely lower my trust level. Hopefully, what comes around goes around will apply in this situation.
