I need some desperate advice. I've been sued and have since received judgement against for a debt owed to Chase Bank by Sharrin & Lapshie. I have a couple of issues: 1. While there was an old debt due to Chase, this was not more than $4K - the judgement against me is for some $8.5K., which is about 5 years old 2. I've never received any notification from this law firm nor do i have any papers they served me for court. I just confirmed that the address on the account is my old address from four years ago. 3. I do not know the docket number they filed, let alone what county they filed in - the mistake i made was i called them and told them my address while identifying myself - i'm pretty sure they didn't know where i lived - when I asked him for the docket number he refused to give it to me. 4. They've levied my only bank account for $16K and i have other bills against it. While I do agree that my credit report isn't ideal - this all a bit strange for me - the debt from chase is about five years old and I havent received any correspondence regarding this for the last two years. What do you suggest - I spoke to one person out at Sharrin and Lipshe - he was pushing for the settlement - I don't have a job, so I can't settle, but he refused to give me the court order number and kept threatening me with garnishment of wages - something non-existent - so once again, I'm pretty sure they don't know. He said my papers were being sent to the Marshall.
Have you checked your credit reports lately to see if the judgment is listed? You should be able to find out the location if it is listed.
Actually I managed to get a copy of the judgement - its actually a restraining order - from my Bank - its not on official court letterhead - I could've formatted this letter - and is actually signed by the Partner of the law firm - Mr Sharrin - and it is made out to my old address. I was told by Citibank that they would either need a release from the court or a court order. Should I call the collection firm and tell them this and demand a release or do you suggest I go down to the court house? thanks again Amit
IMMEDIATELY contact a lawyer and get help. DON'T CALL THE CA/LAWYER. Is the judgment showing up on your CR? Go to the Court Clerks Office of the Court shown on the judgment and see if they have a copy on file.
Please email me, i know how you can DELTE this UNPAID judgment, permanently, it will not erase the fact that you owe the money, but it will no longer show on your credit report. I can asssure you this is no scam. I can show you before and after examples, testimonials, etc. REMOVED BY MOD
The poster doesn't need the judgment deleted from his credit reports, he needs to get the matter taken care of. It appears that it is not a real judgment, but rather someone garnishing his account. Your services are far from what he needs right now.
