I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my friends here.

I've been out a lot the last few days and may be for a few more, but I'll be back!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Drive safely, please.

    Biz:

Where have you been? Your insight into a great many matters has been sorely missed.

In any event, welcome back aboard!

    Apex,

Thanks for that thought! I was away with the family sending the holiday with extended family. No internet access for over a week!

Looks like it's been busy while I was away!

No internet access for a week? Did you feel cut off, or did you feel liberated by not being attached to the computer all the time.

At first, no internet felt like withdrawals! But after a few days, it was liberating. I actually had to pick up the phone and talk to some people instead of firing off an e-mail!

I found the same thing when I canceled my cable years ago. For a short time I missed it, but then I found it liberating. So much so that, 15 years later, I still won't pay for cable. I could now, but I won't.

    Hedwig,

Your timing is impeccable! I'm looking at my cable bill, wondering how life would be without it! Though I admit I would have to wait until the Super Bowl is over! Gotta have the HD for that!

    No you don't!!

Listen on the radio or go somewhere to watch it.

See, that's how a lot of people get themselves in trouble (I know it's not you, just making a point).

They don't see how they can not have cable, not eat lunch out every day, not subscribe to the newspaper and several magazines (there's this thing called the library).

Anyway, not ranting against you, this is just one of the points I try to help people with. Especially once you find out how liberating it is.
