Geeez, something must be wrong with me.

I got a nice Cash rewards card from NASA. I know I need to use it in order to get the benifits. So my plan is to use it for expenses I would normally put on my debit card & pif every month.

I cringe when I use it! Even though I know I will pay it off I seem to have some kind of mental block againest it and I feel anxious using it! I feel anxious about all my accts until they are at 0 balance.

I guess I am somehow afraid something will come up. Maybye when you've been down that road and are resolved to never go there again this happens.

I am bonkers. I know this sounds absurd. I am beginning to think I need therapy lol.

Heard about the tax rebate...yahooo!!! Hubby was excited until I told him nearly all of it was going into our emergency fund!! I did promise him a little to keep him happy. Maybye when I get some savings accumulated I won't be so credit card shy, I think maybye thats the reason I feel this way.

Totally useless post, lol, but it feels better to get it out.

    Teg,

I think your reaction to using credit is normal and natural considering all you've been through. Once you get into the habit of paying, I think it will ease.

But, you're still moving in the right direction, so keep it up.

Re: tax rebate, see..the savings is building faster than you thought!

    Only natural response . . .

I wish the tax rebate applied to everyone.

While I won't get into the tax code as it is written, I will summarily sum it up as inequitable garbage; i.e., it is unfair.

Well, the rebate is "targeted" towards those that will "spend it" right away. I think it will be a "shot in the arm" as designed. How much so,...we'll have to wait and see.

Oh, it will be spent . . .

Tegleg, I too think this is a normal reaction.

When someone has an accident, they are usually leery of driving again. The best thing they can do is to get in the car and force themselves to drive. It's the same with you. You're forcing yourself to use the card. It will get easier as time goes on and you prove to yourself that you can handle it.

And congratulations on builiding up that emergency fund!!

Looks like the Senate wants to change this part! They're mentioning Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Warren Buffet getting checks now!

See . . . God forbid that it apply to everyone.

I don't get that part about our Tax Code.
