Ok I have these court docs that say CHase Bank VS My Wife Case# Stipulation for Entry of Judgement with stay of entry to provide for installment payments. Declaration of my Wife. What does this mean?? Please discuss this with me. Should we be worried about it.???
As long as payments are made in the amount and are received by the date in the Stipulation, they forgo entering a judgment against your wife.
It sounds like, and this is weird, you are wondering what a stipulation is when you've apparently stipulated. If you didn't stipulate, why does Chase think you stipulated? This is the sort of question I would ask myself, and I would also ask Chase this.
If this is small claims, your court might have something like a generic appearance and answer form. But try to think of it this way, you are lawye, at least in the eyes of the law. Why would a lawyer expect to have forms provided for him? A lawyer would have books and CDs filled with this sort of thing because this is what lawyers do. That's how this is, you are a lawyer, even though you aren't one. You can see how this is effective for the debt collecting lawyer. Most people can't figure out what an appearance even means, so they default.
