Amazing what affects your score

    I called Equifax the other day to add my employer to my personal profile, which they updated immediately. My Equifax score jumped almost 20 pts from 595 to 612 overnight. Nice.

    How's that work, you put a company and it jumps? Does it matter which company you put?

    Agree - employer names, and anything not credit/money related does not affect your score.

    Well I have no idea what else it could have been, because I compared the new report with the report from the day before, line by line, and it is exactly the same.

    Hrrrmmmm...

    It is something you cannot "read" in written language, yet something in the code behind the report is causing the higher score. Sounds like some aging finally caught up, and kicked your score up.

    Your score is calculated based on entered "code", you will not be able to see this on your report.

    The difference is the time. Your credit report had more history on the second report ;)
