I am buying a new Mac this week, and was wondering about the Juniper Credit Card. Apple has this card to finance their Mac's. You also can pay it all off in 60 days and NO INTEREST. I have the money to pay outright for my new Mac, but was thinking if I get the Juniper CC and finance thru them,my score would go up, and I would pay it off in the 60 day time period. What say you guys? Is this card a baddie to get?Do they pester you with promotional phone calls? Would my score go up with a new CC? Haven't had a new CC for a few years now. Pros or Cons? Thanks Woofer a MAC GIRL.
I bet : ) I have been a Mac girl for over a decade now. I had a turquoise mac book and the se which was looked like a tv set. Right now I have the MacBook Pro 15 but am getting the MacBook Pro 17 inch. They came out with a new one today with the Core 2 Duo Penryn : ) I was one of the very first people to have a wireless internet card. I use to amaze people (still do as they think I am doing WiFi)when I would be on the internet on a boat or somewhere where there was no WiFi and I was logged on. I do like the MacBook BUT they don't have the card slot that I need. Is this your first one? Woofer
Your score would likely go down initially because of the new account. Over time it may help you. I don't know much about Juniper, though.
Now do you mean because of the amount charged or even if no amount charge but because it is new it will go down? Thanks
Depending on the rest of your situation, of course, a new account usually makes your score go down because it shortens your average history. Of course, the more accounts you have and the longer your history, the less the impact. You'll also have an inquiry associated with the new account, that's usually a few point decrease. And if the utilization is over 50%, that can have an effect, too. But it depends on your total situation how much the impact will be. In the end, only Fair Isaac knows for sure.
Yup, I'm a recent PC convert. I figured why get a PC that just runs windows when I can get a Mac that runs OS-X (Still just running Tiger), Vista and XP. Good luck with you new one!
You HAVE to get LEOPARD : ) Do you do macmail? As for my Mac I never purchase insurance but I do on all my laptops. One time I was on the porch and my dog jumped up and my glass of water went all over the keyboard... TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLAR PROBLEM... NO PROBLEM. Another time the mouse and the touch board were acting weirdly (probably because I dropped my MAC) and they put a new motherboard in along with the battery charger outlet. If you haven't gotten the insurance I recommend it, and also the support you may need is very good. Once you have a MAC you will NEVER GO BACK ; ) If you have any questions just ask, as being an old timer with MACS everybody comes to me with their problems with them. : ) Woofer
I got a Juniper Credit Card 6 mos ago $2,000 cl 8.9% Filed BK 10-15-2005 Discharged 5-19-2006 They send you a lot of transfer checks 3% Fee but that's about it, no calls. I keep my Balance low around $300, I like it so far.
I have a Futuretrust card which is by Juniper/now Barclay's I got it about 6 months ago. I live in Texas and they pulled Transunion. They are a bit quirky to say the least, can AA without warning. Tegleg
Adverse action: includes interest rate raises & credit limit decreases or cancellation of the account for whatever bogus reason. Tegleg
Yea I heard that to, Was thinking about charging more on this card. I think the reason they close out accounts, that are in good standing is that their not getting enough F/C from you. I heard that they will just close account for any reason at all. You're always walking on thin ice with this account but with all Credit card accounts I guess one never knows. They want you to use them so they get their F/c and when you do They use it against you because you have used to much of your available credit. Damn if you do and Damn if you don't. I guess all I can say is " Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day".
Stay away from juniper! I opened an account with them in mid 2009. 7 months ago, i was late paying my bill by merely a couple of hours because i submited it online after 7 pm so it didnt post until the next day which was late. Welll since my payment was late they shot my 7.9% APR to 25%! The agrrement disclaimer they sent me in the mail after opening my account claimed that i had to pay my bill on time and no overdrafts for six months and my APR would return to the original rate. Well, its been six months and they claim they have no other APR offers at the time! What is that supposed to mean? kEEP YOUR WORD! Credit card companies think they can just do people wrong and there is nothing we can do about it! I have a high 700 beacon credit score and now how it works. Read the fine print because JUNIPER ARE CROOKS!
I have had a Juniper card for over a year & for the first year it was 0% now it is 9%. Very low I think!
