    Hi all,
I have an outstanding Sprint Dispute for $100 from 2000 that is still on my account as being in collections with AFNI. I disputed this amount way back in 2000 (Sprint tried to charge me for dropping them but it had been over a year)
I ended up resolving this with Sprint (I have to find the letter that says this - I have ti somewhere)

But now I see it on my credit report - and even worse - the date reported 04/2004 - WTF? -- I wish I had looked at my credit report sooner. Where did this 2004 date from from? Shouldn't this drop off my credit report since it was over 7 years ago? Ugh! This seems like it should be illegal!

I have to send in a letter of Val for another issue else - should I combine them or just send one for each CA?

It's a pain, but sometimes you have to dispute the same thing several times before they get removed. I'd send the debt validation letters individually, or call one of the bureau's and ask for the procedure.

The "Date Reported" should have nothing to do with reporting Statute of Limitations; reporting SOL is govrned by the "Date of First Major Deliquency". Though this date seems to be the one never reported, or in error.

I would dispute this again, in writing, enclosing copies of your paperwork showing the original deliquency date.

This may take some work, but it should be easy to remove.

I would dispute it also, in writing. Good luck!
