    Hi,

I have a friend that needs a CC to help hold him over for a few month's. He owns a Spring/Summer related business and makes good income ($100K+) His scores are Equifax 695 Experian 685 and TU 687. What card will he likely be approved for with these scores? An indication of the most likely initial credit limit will help (hoping for $5K+) Terms and interest are not the biggest considerations at this time, credit limit is. Any insights are greatly appreciated!

Forgot to mention that Citi and AMEX are not options due to having been included in BK 11 yrs ago. Hooters card seems like it could work...any thoughts? Thanks.

Kind of feel like I'm talking to myself but oh well :) I just went to whogavemecredit.com and saw somebody with scores of 694 686 694 that got a Chase card with a $5,600 limit and 19.99 APR with an income of $39K. From what I'm reading here, Chase is generous with CLI's so maybe this isn't a bad place to start. Just throwing out more food for thought...feedback is appreciated.

Chase isn't bad. Juniper could work as well as the Union Plus card from HSBC or any HSBC regular card. May also try BOA.

    Apex,

Thanks. My friend is sitting here with me now and he's about to fill out an online app or two. Do you think he has a good chance at any of the cards Hedwig mentioned yesterday (US Airways Signature Visa, Marriott Rewards Signature Visa, United Airlines Signature Visa) given his current scores? According to whogavemecredit.com he should have a good shot at Chase Freedom, Chase Visa Platinum, and BOA WorldPoints. Any final thoughts? The moment of truth is near! LOL :)

Many of these cards can be found in Creditnet's credit cards section and we'd appreciate your support by applying through Creditnet.

    Thank you.

Well, my friend tried for the Chase Freedom Visa first and got a message saying he would have an answer in 30 days. Any thoughts?

Next, he tried BOA WorldPoints Mastercard and got a similar message except that the answer will come via email in 2 days or so. I was chatting online with A CSR while we submitted the app. He seemed to the think it was a good thing and felt confident that credit would be extended. He said it just means they need to do additional verification.

Anyone who has been through this already please feel free to share your experience.

Wow, that rattled the cobwebs in my brain. Does anyone know if the Hhld Trio even still works?

Basically you apply for three of those at the same time, and you only generate one inquiry - at least that's how it used to work. I'm not even sure if those cards are even offered anymore.

The Corvette Card is no more but, Union Plus is still for the taking with about a 650 EQ score.

Chase doesn't approve anyone instantly although BOA does on occasion.

I'd apply for three Juniper Cards. It will be coded as one app if done in the same day. I'd suggest US Airways (not signature, doesn't report the limit), Carnival and whatever else.

I may also try RBS for an EQ pull.

Whatever you do, submit the apps through creditnet.

    Apex,

Do the inquiries from yesterday hurt his chances with Juniper? He also has 3 inquiries from Dec. for an auto loan which apparently only count as one. Am I mistaken or does Juniper give lower limits like $1K - 1.5K?

Do you think my friend has a good chance of being approved for the Chase and BOA cards? From what I can tell, if it's a NO you usually get declined right then and there so I'm thinking he will at least get something even if the CL's aren't big. I've read about many people being able to get an increase upon activation too. Any thoughts?

He has a chance with those scores. It's really a crapshoot.

Juniper usually gives at least 2.5k limits.

You don't necessarily get approved because you weren't instantly declined. Again, it's a crapshoot.

The way to do it is to get to know underwriters.

    Hi,

My buddy still hasn't heard anything from BOA or Chase. Does anyone think he should call them? If so, who exactly and at what numbers? There was no number displayed during the online app process.

BOA has a function on their website where you can check the status. Chase will not give you the status.
