I had some accurate lates on my Best Buy card (30days Jun-Aug 2005)... I disputed "never late" and they came off all three.

A goodwill approach will not be successful with the creditors you've referenced. We may be able to help you in deleting some of them.

sounds good, that is my DH stuff now mine..........had an account with LEASECOMM that DOFD was 06/01, it was PIF on 07/07. was sch to come off EX 04/08,never came off so i disputed, it came back as validated BUT now shows a the date as 2014!! mailed leaseCON (lol) but letter was returned, called today and was told that it would drop off in 2014,that it is 7 days from payoff date. i told the (recovery) rep i was sure it was from DOFD and was told " i do disputes every day, you are wrong"

i called the FTC and filed a complaint. she advised that i write another letter and send it certified, if it is not corrected to call back.i think i DEFINATELY need help if her suggedtions don't work.

does anyone know what section if the FCRA has the wording for the 7 yr reporting rule?

Do anyone have an example of what a GW should consist of? Sample would do great!

Basically you apologize for being late, explain what life altering event caused it, point out your fantastic payment history since then, how much you love the card (or you hope to do business again in the future if the card is closed), etc. etc.

    Grovel, humble, suck up...

People get this all too confused. Boilerplate communications are ineffective. Just write down what you wish to say, as Jlynn stated, and send it out.

Plead your case and hope for the best. This isn't a posivistic science.
