I was an ID Theft victim a while back, and learned afterwards that in addition to CRAs , you can have yourself omitted on such grounds from other "databases" (like the on-line search places, etc. as a result). SO I have decided to try and eliminate myself from every record database in the world, but am having trouble finding out who all the major ones' are...so far I have "opted-out" of these below, and they have erased my records. Does anyone here have law enforcement/other experience that can add to my list? I have taken care of: Lexis-Nexis Choicepoint Intellius Know-X USSearch Dun and Bradstreet (this was a tricky one, lesser known) Thomson/Reuters (this was a tricky one, lesser known) Someone also told me you can have a Judge issue a "permenent order to seal" all personal records after an ID Theft - but info on this is sketchy at best - has anyone heard of these? Would take care of a pesky tax lien the CRAs keep verifying on me!! - I mean after all the lien shows my ss# and name, so its a security threat since its public info!
How did you go about doing this? I searched Lexis and you have to be a member. I would like to get my name off a lot of lists as well, and have no idea how to. Woofer
You have to contact their Dayton office and opt-out. Usually requires the threat or perceived threat of someone locating you and causing harm. We're actually proficient at record expungement.
Apex It seems to me that a lot of these places are not just holding credit problems but criminal records as well. If you don't have anything to hide except your credit reports ; ) would you suggest to still get off these lists? Can the consumer request to read what is on these lists, like we do with credit reports? Thanks Woofer
I would get out of them if at all possible. Yes, you can request a report on yourself. And, yes, many do have criminal records that they obtain from the NCIC.
And the reasons to get off these list is so that there is no public info? If I wanted to request info on someone, NOTHING to do with finances, job, rental, I could get info? All I have to do is pay? Do you get on these lists easily? IS it going to cost money to get OFF of these lists? Is this also like ZABA where you get info and then can click on for more info if you want to pay? Or when you put your phone number into google and they show your name and directions to your home? I did get OFF that list! Thanks Woofer
