Ok, tomorrow morning I have a meeting with a Chase Escalation specialist. The bottom line is the company has not provided me with cause/reason for the debt or until recently any valid way to make payment. My communication has been like this: May 07 (pay off balance and close account) June 07 (request information regarding charge after closing account and a way to pay - never received any) December 07 (charge off - no notification given to my knowledge) June 08 - (Placed 4 or 5 calls requesting a call back, finally receive one, but during an interview so I couldn't take it) July 08 - requested an escalation specialist to call me tomorrow between 8 and 10AM... they are trying to but not guaranteeing it (from an internal department that does not take calls and apparently has already reviewed my account and denied the ability to remove a charge off). WHAT CAN I DO!!!! I doubt they're going to remove the charge off or ever forward me to a VP... how can I make them believe me, this sucks!!! Should I just try to pay it off, that would at least help my issue some right?
