Hi my name is Below 600, I screwed up from an early age just got back on track got some secured credit cards learned my lesson now and am trying to sort out the mess. This is an awesome site am so glad I found it. I am planning on buying a home but need to boost my score 1st and fore most. Thanks in advance to all,
Thanks bustdebt, I looked at my credit report and have unauthorized credit inquires on my report; I never signed for these people to look into my credit; don't know who they are. I live in Florida what legal matters can I act on. Sorry if this has been answered before I looked through some of the threads but all this info is over whelming. I heard you can actually sue the Credit Agency or whoever initiated the Inquiry is that true? For like $1,000 a piece for breaking Federal Law?
Where did you look at your credit report? More important, how were these unauthorized inquiries listed? Did they show up under "Inquiries that display to companies" (i.e. "hard" inquiries), or were they "Inquiries that do not display to companies" ("soft" inquiries)? If they were soft inquiries, they are legal. You don't have to give permission, and they don't affect your credit score. If they were hard inquiries, who were they from? Some types of companies may have permissible purpose even if you did not explicitly give them permission -- hospitals, for example. And collection agencies. Tell us more about these unauthorized inquiries, and we can tell you more about what you can do about them.
