I have got to the point I am thinking about credit debt consolidation, I just started my research about it and I would like to seek help here in terms of benefits and companies with good reputation to work with.

I was reading in the internet some of these companies are scam and who can't trust in the paid advertisement,,, please advise, I plan to start on it as soon as possible

    Thanks

Have you tried to consult with the people whom you owe for a hardship where they drop you payment like for 6 months or a year.Thats one option.if your in collections BK is an option.I've done what your thinking of doing but it didn't work for us that's not to say it won't work for you.Let see if someone can help you on the credit debt consolidatipn.

You roll the dice and accept the roll. Here's your problem they do a half ass neg.If theres any hitch or problem your on your own.So if you pay what are you paying for. What to do.Try to go to your creditors and work something out.If not than your rolling the dice. And you can crap out.

thanks for the many replies, so far I haven't found a company I could trust since there are a lot of pos/neg reviews,,,

I know I messed up, I have contacted my car lien holder and currently I am under a payment program, since I lost my full time job and I am currently making less than 20 hours per week in another part time job, they understood my situation, so far I have under control my other cc payments (minimun payments) but still I have a long way to go

If anyone find a reputable firm (sounds almost impossible) that deals with debt consolidation please drop me a line, I will continue my research,, Thanks for the tips,

Yes SS payments are NOT garnishable - BUT - any creditor or CA can, with a judgment, raid your bank account. Then it will be up to you to go to court and have the judgment overturned by proving that the funds in your account are solely SS benefits. You will get them back but don't hold your breath waiting for the return of those funds.

    I found one company

    Hi

Today I contacted a company.. FAMILY CREDIT MANAGEMENT (familycredit.org]) and was told that it will take 3-4 years to pay off my balances with my cc, they wont work with DELL FIN SERV, but still sounded good, they are going to email me a budget form (needed for this program to be taken place in Texas),,

please anyone know if this company is reliable? they assured me I will receive statements from my CC showing my payments, they said in the state of TX there is a one time set up fee of $49.00 which you would pay with your first monthly payment. There is also a monthly administration fee which in TX would not exceed $35.00.

I am willing to try it, I am aware of the possible outcomes like damage to my credit report, but I want to payoff all my debt with my very low income right now,,

please any feedback will be greatly appreciated

Before contracting out with any of these outfits please contact the Better Businees Bureau and find out how "reputable" or "reliable" they really are.
