I have a satisfied debt on my credit from 2002 that was listed as satisfied in 2002 but listed as filed in 2004 . When does it actually come off? Seven years from when it was paid or from when it was filed ?

    Neither.

It's seven years from the date of first delinquency. That would be the date of the first missed payment.

If it wasn't derogatory, it can stay on for 10 years ... and you would want that.

If it was derogatory, it should come off 7.5 years from the DOFD, or 7 years from the DOLA, which should be the same time period (DOLA should follow DOFD by 6 months).

If it was a judgment, 7 years from the date it was paid.

That is true for tax liens, but money judgments aren't affected by the date paid.

"antedate the report by more than seven years or until the governing statute of limitations
has expired, whichever is the longer period."
