I just received a credit alert for a balance increase in one of my credit card accounts. The thing is, the account was opened in 1995. I don't even have the credit card anymore, and certainly didn't use it. Worst of all, I don't see any statements coming from them nor do I know where to pay off the balance.

I am worried that it will have negative effect my credit score.

    What should I do?

    Here is the information:

    CITI CARDS CBSDNA (XXXXXXXXXXXX9113)
    New balance: $665
    Show/Hide Details

    Account opened: 11/1995
    Description: Credit card
Amount in H/C column is credit limit

    Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, I don't have their contact info.

A Google of "CITI CARDS CBSDNA" only shows a PO Box address with no phone number.

    Citibank
    PO Box 6241
    Sioux Falls, SD 57117-6241

Another thing, how can I ask for a new card without knowing the account number?

Just tell them your wallet was burned up in a fire so you should have your ss# mothers maidian name etc.You should be able to get the phone number from the address.

on your credit report there will be the contact address and maybe a phone number for the creditor.

If you have a new charge on a card you don't have anymore, you need to be looking at fraudulent use of the card.

The reports directly from Trans Union usually have the full account number.

    Thank everyone for your help!

Trans Union did provide a complete account number. I called CitiCard up, and everything is resolved!
