I've been sitting here biding my time, waiting patienly for a Derog. Tradeline that was scheduled to fall off according to the Annual Credit Report on 12/2008 from both Trans Union and Experian thus my total FICO Score should have been in a better position to negociate with my Bank (Wells Fargo) who I've had an account in good standing for 12 years and my Credit Card account since 2005 is going to increase to 17.66% from 9.9 APR and I just checked this morning to verify that the Tradelines were still present. Should I dispute at this point? Before attempting to try and apply for a Balance Transfer thus risking lowering my score with another inquiry and having a chance of being declined. Try disputing as obsolete. But if they're that old, it might not make much difference in your score. As derogatories get older they have much less impact.
Thanks Hedwig! Just got off the Phone with Wells Fargo and they just lowered my APR to 5.9% for the next 12 months....That settles one part of the problem for the moment. To dispute the Tradelines should I just pay for another report (What a Rip-Off) since I"m sure the Annual Report I got back in August is probably too old. But I really think it's wise to dispute these since Experian is the only one that did remove the Tradeline(s) but Trans Union and Equifax did not. I already tried to get another report but they want me to pay them. What a Scam!! What Slime Balls! I tend to agree with you on the point that a Derog. that's nearly 7 years old probably won't make much of a difference in a FICO Score. But these days every point counts! Experian | Consumer Services TU and EQ have free options as well if you've been declined credit. Just navigate their pages.
Thanks but No Thanks.....That's why I relied upon your board of hypothecated "Experts" (more so than I) on Credit Matters. By getting Declined and thus getting that "Free Report" that would add 1 unnecessary Inquiry and lowering my overall FICO score. Not very sound advice from somebody who promotes himself to be an expert in the Credit Restoration Field. That would seem to me be a counterproductive strategy. Thanks to this Board I've recieved some sound advice on challenging some erronious outdated entries in my CRA Reports and slowly but surely been increasing my FICO Scores from about the high 580's to where they are now without having to shell out $1,000s of Dollars in temporary AUs to make sudden increases in both my Credit File and somebodys pocket. I didn't say "apply" for something. All the pages ask for is an adverse decision in the last 60 days. If you would have actually read what I wrote you would have noted that. Can you not think of one thing that would classify as an adverse action? In any event and as for the rest of your comments, good job but, there is no reason to for your innuendos. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants "to do it themselves" or has the time in order to do so. In addition, our tradeline additions aren't temporary and they don't costs thousands of dolllars. I don't appreciate the inference you're trying to draw by those statements. With that said, you have 30 posts and we have, hum. I think that speaks for itself insofar as we didn't make as many posts as we have simply to solicit people. We run AdWords for advertising purposes. We are here to help people just like yourself and that is all I was trying to do with my statement above.
The OP did suffer an adverse action, whether they realized it or not. http://consumers.creditnet.com/Discussions/credit-talk/t-freezing-my-tradelineline-69035.html As far as Experian, if you have a report number, you only need to go to their main site, click on "review report again" at the bottom of the page; enter the information requested, and you should have a brand new report.
Thanks Jlynn for your input, I did have great success with Wells Fargo as mentioned in an ealier post by getting them to somehow lower my interest rate to 5.9% for 12 months (FIXED) and no change in my Credit Limit! That's pretty good considering this present economic climate. As for the other poster that chose to reply with a rather defensive tone by implying I was using innuendos against him or his reputation I find it kind of strange but that's to be expected in this day of "Dog eat Dog". belittling one for the number of postings seems to me a bit petty in nature. That fellow from Texas responded with what I thought was an intelligent non-defensive answer and he has a history of damn near 6000+ posts to his credit. I don't know if he's out to try and promote anything or not, and I really don't care! But I'm just here for one thing to get solid advise from people who might have a somewhat of a Clue! I'm truly Sorry and I Appologize for giving you the impression that I was using innuendos against you or your reputation. Don't be so defensive take a moment to sit back and relax and be Thankful for what you have. TransUnion 712 Equifax 709 Experian 718 fako 722
