Going to Court against Mann Bracken in Texas on Wednesday of this week! Just found this site. I have filed answer to their complaint in court, in the county I live in. I want to win. What do I need to do win? I can't let them get a judgement against me for Target Visa card. The balance due to Target was $7,000 when I stopped paying on it almost a year ago.

Going to court Wednesday so I need some help.

    Thanks guys.

You waited until 2 days before you have to go to court to ask for help?

    UNBELIEVABLE!!! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Most courts won't let you file anything 2 days before a hearing. Or have you filed anything at all? Did you respond to the complaint in writing? If so, what did you say? Were there any affidavits in the paperwork you have?

You need to get the date change if you need help there's not a whole lot that can be done.Just hope your files are in order. Is it small claims or federal. If it's small claims it's cut and dry.The judge will say do you owe this money. All he wants to hear is yes or no.If it's yes the trial's over.boom judgement.

    Yes

I filed a response to their letter. It was a letter with questions for me to answer. I answered basically denying the wrong doing. I can email the letter to someone if anyone is willing to help. After the letter the judge determined this date for a hearing. I was told not to hire a lawyer because then it would look like I have money, which I don't.

My case is unusual in the sense that my wife is related to the judge. They are second cousins. He has not excused himself and we are figuring he is sticking around for whatever reason. I guess he thinks he can be fair. I do not know.

I guess my defense is based off of the letter I sent. If anyone here is willing to help me, I can email it to you.

I appreciate anyone who is willing to help me.
    Thanks.

By not excusing himself and you win,it opens the door for appeal.Keep us informed

    How?

How are they going to know or find out?

Surely someone on here can steer me in the right direction. There are people all over the world that fight these people and win everyday.

Do I need to bring supporting documents to present my case? based on my reply letter to the courts?

    Thanks all.
