I have a late 60 with Household Bank. I don't think it was sixty days late. I have canceled checks and am only missing 1... but it was a couple of years ago, so I'd like to get a validation... and if my records are off somehow, maybe a good will deletion. However, I've written the address from my credit report HSBC PO BOX 5253 CAROL STREAM , IL 60197 (800) 477-6000 Several times and I've not gotten so much as a, "It's your debt deal with it. Is there a better address?
Contact the CRA, not the OC. Dispute the entry as "this entry contains incorrect information". You can be nice and tell them exactly what's wrong, but that's your call -- I never do any extra work on their behalf. The CRA will conduct an investigation and give you a report on whether it's been removed or verified. This usually takes about 30 days. I've had good success using the online dispute process.
