Help!..Disputes.. hi.....i would like some help.... I sent out dispute letters to the credit bureau request verification...and im happy to say that i received letters back stating that some accounts were deleted. But there was one account that both experian and equifax did not remove but transunion did. can i sent out another letter to both equifax and experian asking them why wasnt it removed and tell them that transunion removed it from my credit report? please advise. i also would like to know what is my next step after round 1 of my disputes?
thank you.... i can you tell me what would be my next step after round 1 of my disputes with the bureaus? i got responses back from all three. Some Account were deleted and other were not. I also have other collections that I didnt include on the initial letters. Can I dispute does as well? tks...
Are you disputing specific items, such as dates and balances? "Not mine" disputes seldom work. You need to target specific data items, and you need to be working from the individual reports and not a 3-in-1 report.
How did you initially delete? In my most recent round of disputes, I disputed everything online with the CRAs. One of the CRAs (can't remember who, but I think it was Equifax) reported one TL as "verified". I sent a certified letter politely but firmly asking them to prove it: It was deleted within days of their receipt. I believe the first line of defense should always be "lay low, let sleeping dogs lie, do the minimum amount of paperwork required to enforce your rights without rocking the boat". Round 2 gets a little more assertive, but still remains professional. This is fun.
hey Sparq, when that letter you sent deleted the item, what type of debt was it and was it still open and active? I was going to pay off a charge off with Cap One and also have closed and paid AMEX balances that I was hoping to use this for. Thanks
It was a Cap One credit card that went unpaid for several years. I ultimately settled and paid, and the matter is now completely stricken from my report. It should have been on there until at least the end of 2010, and I had it removed last fall.
