    Hey Everyone-

I'm currently in the process of settling with two banks, one of which being Amex. As I was looking through my report i noticed Amex has the account listed as being opened one year after my birth, which obviously is NOT correct.

Should I dispute the date opened or leave it as it is. Can you guys tell me what if it will hurt the overall score to correct it or leave it. Thanks!

You could dispute as incorrect data to the oc let them figure it out.

It's not a question of if I can or can not dispute this data. My question was it is helpful to have this account that old (25yrs) or for it to have an accurate open date (3yrs or so)

If you had it 25 yrs and it's current leave it alone

Not to be rude, but please read the original post. The account is not current, its one of the two i'm currently behind on since November 08 and is being settled.

    Thanks for your help

Ok If you settle then dispute the wrong birth date and see if you can get that one removed.Paid for less is better than not paid anyway you look at it your going to take a hit. Also you'll get a 10-99 for the difference, that goes on your income.I don't think your rude just trying to solve your problem.
