I have been a member of CN for about a month now and I can truly say that i have learned a great deal of information. Since pulling all three of my credit reports about three weeks ago, things are looking very positive so far. After I pulled my reports I thoroughly looked over each one for inaccurate information. My transunion report was pulled on 3/18/09. I immediately started an online dispute. I also signed up for truecredit.com. My dispute is not finalized but because i signed up with truecredit I have had 2 TL deleted along with a judgment. One of the TL is a OC (Spiegel) and the other is a CA (West Asset Mgmt-which was also deleted from EXP.) The judgment is kind of new in which it was suppose to stay on my report until 2015. I disputed it as the wrong amount. The amount I paid (garnishment) was different from what was on my CR. The deleted judgment has not shown up yet on truecredit.com but when i called transunion they told me that it has been deleted. So I guess creditnet will update their report soon. The collection accounts that I disputed were paid and they are just coming back verified. I think I will try to use the nutcase letter strategy for those. I wish i would have found this site before i decided to pay the collection accounts maybe i could have bargained with them for deletion. Nothing has happened on my EQ report but 2 deleted addresses. I am very enthusiastic about cleaning my credit now that things are becoming clearer. Thanx creditnet!

Good job and keep it up. For those collections that were verified, see if they denoted them as "consumer disputes." If not, it is a FCRA and FDCPA violation you can sue over or simply use as leverage.

What's the difference between account disputed and account disputed by consumer, and account under dispute?

Nothing. Just the way the subscriber or credit reporting agency marks it. This is my opinion mind you.

See, the CRA must mark it as being in dispute under the FCRA. That is where you typically see account disputed. The furnisher must also do this but, it generally appears as subscriber reports account under dispute. All in all, it doesn't have any real difference insofar as in a case premised on these violations you'd go after both.

But if the first posting of the account the ca reports it as in dispute, when it never was disputed, what grounds do you have to dispute other than getting red flagged.Once disputed does it always have to report as disputed?Or can you dispute as never disputed by consumer.
