GEt this, I made arrangements to pay off my HSBC account via a CA. Dumb I now know. But HSBC is showing on my CRs as a charge off when in fact i finished paying it up last year. I called the CA, PEople's first, and it the telephone numbers no longer work. I am scared that I got scammed.

What is the best solution for getting this rectified? Any advice.

They can still list it as a co.But it should show 0 balance.I have a phone number for the VP of peoples.his name is Andy Dunn 1-612-362-3630.They have a lot of lawsuits against them.

Pay status should read as paid or paid/charge off. Balance should be zero as JJ said.

Dispute it and HSBC should mark it as being disputed thus, taking it out of your FICO score calculation.
