And we've stopped spending. I'm looking for a job. DH is working as hard as he can. We're selling all that we can.

Problem is that we can barely make all of our credit card payments and we can't move any more debt to lower rate cards or get higher credit lines. I've tried asking for lower rates, but they say no due to our high debt ratio and a few late payments.

Is there any other way to ask for lower interest rates? It's killing us and we are unable to make all the payments. The kids will be out of school soon and it will be even harder to go on job interviews. Fortunately I've been able to do a few freelance work projects from home and hope to do more.

How else can interest rates be lowered for residents in TX? Any recommendations? THANK YOU FROM A NEWBIE!

As long as there making money off you there not going to work with you,You could try and ask for a hardship program, either that or you'll have to default on your cards.Find out who'll work with you and work with them and the ones that don't you may have to default. There making it real hard on the consumer this year.Basicaly your a good customer to them they get late payments and high interest from you.
