So it's been 30 days since I sent my dispute letter to Experian, and no response. How can I know if they're doing something, did something, still yet to do something, or if they're just simply ignoring me? Are they even allowed to just ignore people? What should I do? Thanks.
I would send them a letter stating that 30 days you ago you xxxxx. Since you have not responded, please xxxxxxx as required by the FCRA.
Edit: Nevermind, just received the results in the mail and they deleted it. Now all I have to do is get the report from equifax that they never sent me and find out if that negative item is on there. I tried getting the online equifax report, but after I fill out everything, it asks me some security question, saying I got a mortgage loan in 2005 and it asks me which company it was with or something like that. I never even came close to doing anything of the sort (since I still live with my parents) so I just chose "none of the above" on both questions, then it said it couldn't give me my report online for security reasons. I thought maybe it was a trick question, but there was no option "I never got a mortgage loan", so what's going on?
Um, they want you to pay for it. Have you tried their back door through the FRCA provisions on their site?
Oh, so they tricked me? Aren't I entitled to a free report from them? I looked on their website and I can't find what you're talking about. I went to their website directly instead of going through annualcreditreport.com and when I clicked on the free credit report link, they're still wanting me to pay for it. Wow, isn't that illegal? Denying me my free credit report?
You can call and get it. There must be a mortgage showing on your reports, so if you never had one it's an erroneous entry. Are you a junior or have a name similar to your father's? Since you live with them, the address will match what is on the mortgage.
Yep, it's illegal but, what is your damage. $10.00? Not to be a smartass but, these companies aren't your friend and you aren't their client.
I called about 3 months ago and got ordered 2 of my 3 free reports. I got one online and the other 2 were giving me trouble and not letting me get it online, so I called to get it. I received the transunion report in the mail, but the equifax one didn't come. So I waited a little while for it to show up and it never did. So I tried to get it online again and it's telling me, like it did before, that I have some mortgage thing in 2005 that I need to choose from to confirm my identity. I've tried several times to get the online Equifax report. Sometimes it shows this mortgage thing, sometimes it doesn't and just goes straight to the "Internet Delivery Unavailable - Mail in Request" page. Yesterday I tried just choosing one of the options and it gave me some page that says I already got my free report. So I don't know if they're counting my first or second call-in request, or one of the many online requests. I just tried to do it again so I could take a screen shot of the mortgage page to show you, but it went straight to the "Internet Delivery Unavailable - Mail in Request" page so I couldn't see it. Have you guys had problems with Equifax? Surely I can't be the only one. I definitely never had one and I am a Jr, unfortunately, but I'm pretty sure my dad hasn't had anything like that either. Have you tried to get an Equifax online report? They don't do the same thing to other people? Sounds like they're just trying to screw with me. Yeah, you're right. I'm not their friend either, that's why if I can find a way to report them for this, I will.
Ok I got my equifax report... I think. I'm having trouble reading these mailed reports. The Experian report I read online showed things clearly and showed me what my report is. All I'm seeing on the Equifax report and the Transunion report I got in the mail is inquiries. On what I think is the report page, it has inquiries that display to companies, which has a vystar inquiry under it, and it also has inquiries that don't display to companies, which has Equifax under it. I don't see anything else on the page. Does that mean my report is clean? The Transunion report has 1 inquiry under regular inquiries and 1 under account review inquiries.
Bumping for someone who knows how to read these reports could tell me if the other reports are clear, all except the inquiries. I explained it in the above post. I just want to make sure I got all the information on my report from these agencies. Thanks.
