Alan Keyes just won't quit. The perennial black Republican candidate who lost to Obama in the 2004 Senate race, is now trying to sue Obama, claiming that the new president-elect was not born in the U.S.

That wasn't the first election he lost. He lost in 2000 and he lost in 1996 and he lost in 1992 as well. But then he isn't the only one that lost in all those years. Historically more than 2000 Republicans run as candidates for president of the United States and an equal number of Democrats also run as candidates every time a presidential election is held. Then even more Independents, Libertarians and other partiy candidates also run. Most of them never spend any money on campaigns or very little. Many of them such as Ross Perot, Steve Forbes, Ralph Nader, Pat Buchanan and more have been quite famous people. I have a large collection of political memorabilia. Campaign buttons from long, long before I was born. Most have pictures of the candidates and a good many show the candidates and their running mates. Some are quite valuable and could be sold for hundreds of dollars each because they are so rare now. I keep them in vacuum packed plastic bags so they won't rust or fade. Its kind of fun collecting them and digging them out from time to time.

I also have quite a number of working campaign wristwatches and other memorabilia that was either sold for contributions or given to special friends of various candidates. All of the wristwatches are the cheap quartz variety and I always took out the batteries before putting them in plastic bags. I also have video tapes of the candidates giving their campaign speeches. I've made tapes at the time the speeches were made then also made digital copies of them and store those on a special hard drive that I never use for anything else. I'll never sell any of it because I want to pass them on to my heirs.

He has no standing to bring such a suit.
