This just happened to a friend of mine. Message started on machine...She picks up and it continues. This message is for XXXXX. If you are not XXXX hangup.. If you are XXXX stay on the line .. Then it goes on to say.. This message is from a debt collector and law office of XXXX. Call us back at XXX in regard to account number XXXXX. Now I am wondering if this is a legal thing? I KNOW that it is a violation AND you cannot leave a message on the machine saying such, but not so sure about this?

She just got another one. This time she does not pick up but the message continues and is the same... I think that this is a violation, don't you?

I went and read and not sure if this could be interpreted to my way of thinking/ 1.Have not gotten any letter from the debt collector yet... (although I suspect palisades is in cahoots) 2. They did say this is from a *debt collector* ???? HELP
