So i have looked at my account... and i have 2 different collection accounts. New collection on debt by: CBT CREDIT SERVICE Reported: 5/1/2009 $35 New collection on debt by: SENEX SERVICES CORP Reported: 7/1/2008 $112 They both say medical... I have had health insurance, so I don't know what the issue is... What I would like is both of them removed as soon as possible... I am willing to pay them, but I want them removed. What is the best method, calling the individual agencies, and paying. What will the tagline say? I think i didn't online dispute with these 3 months ago, and they came as verified... Please advise on best course of action. Need to buy some cars soon, and would like to get good rates. Thanks. -data.
In your CR should be the contact information for both those collection agencies. It is such a small amount of money, I am surprised the original creditor hired an agency to collect on that amount. I would call the collectors, and find out more information from them. If you are willing to pay, I am sure they will be happy. Just tell them part of the deal of paying in full is to have those listings removed from your CR. After you get an agreement with them over the phone, make sure they send you a letter with that same agreement you just made. Make sure you get the reps name, client #, and any other information you can to verify who you were talking with. If they don't send you a letter with the same agreement, write back to them stating the name of the person you talked too. Include the exact date and time. It is much better to negotiate in writing, but if you want to solve it faster, and are willing to pay, just call them. A paper trail is the most important thing to have. You might also want to let them know that your call is being recorded. They might be more inclinded to send the same agreement with you from over the phone.
It's possible that the OC (e.g. hospital, clinic, or whatever) didn't hire the CA but sold the debt(s) as part of a collection of delinquent accounts. If a debt is deemed uncollectable, for whatever reason, by a creditor, it's often less hassle just to package a bunch of them up and sell them (at a sizable discount) to a debt purchasing company. The OC gets cash in hand from the debt purchaser which, while less than the face value of the debt, is still better than nothing and less hassle and cost than hiring collectors. The debt purchaser then goes about trying to collect the face value of the debt from the debtor. If they buy them for 10-20 cents/dollar, they only have to collect on 10-20% of the debts to get their money back. After that, it's just gravy.
So I finally got the account numbers to call into at least Senex Corp. (317-613-3000) She said that they are going to send me another bill to my address. But when I pay it, they cannot remove the account information. It will show up as paid in full with a balance of $0. Is that a solution that will make the derog hit on the credit report less..??? ------- Still don't have the number to get someone alive at Alliance One for $35.. just keep on getting voicemail's stating leave my number... (877) 853-4441 that sounds like a bad idea.
There is little or NO BENEFIT to with regard to your credit score for payment. Your credit score will likely remain unchanged unless the item(s) are removed. There really is no incentive for you to pay these unless they can be removed from your credit report(s).
How do I move forward with this. It seems I want pay for delete. But the rep stated that they could not delete. How can I get them to delete the derog? They are sending me a statement in writing again, any help is appreciated. -data
