Original contract.

    Hello,
    I keep hearing/reading that when a CA buys your debt you should ask them to provide the original signed contract/agreement.
    Does renewing your card count as a new agreement?
    I took out a Sears card in 1976. I accepted the renewal agreements as the card expired. Does the CA still need to show me what I signed in 1976?

    No, they only need to show some scintilla of evidence that the account was yours.
