I live in Savannah, GA & I believe I'm on chex systems from having a suntrust bank account closed. Are there any banks or credit unions around Savannah that I can open up an account with.
I would get your Chex System report to make sure you have a record. If you do see if there is an balance and if there is you might want to pay it off. There are banks that offer second chance checking accounts or will open an account if you have a Chexx System record but you need to pay off any balance.
There is another way to do it too. Just start a new corporation and use the Tax I.D. number for your checking account. I would not use it to attempt to get new credit unless your new corporation can develop some sort of decent income besides money you put into it. Using a TIN or an EIN just to get new credit without having the income to back it up can get you into some really serious legal problems. Using it to get a new bank account isn't going to get you into any trouble but getting new credit using false information can get you into serious legal trouble.
