I disputed something from sprint on my report 4 months ago. It was removed as they were unable to verify. Now today they began to report it again. To begin with this is a collection for an account I never had. I'm disputing it again and sending a letter to validate. Is there anything else I can do? Can they legally even do that?

    did you dispute it online?

DO NOT dispute anything online. You are excusing the CRA from certain areas of the FCRA when you do this in addition to not being able to establish a paper trail should you intend to sue them.

Dispute everything by mail and send certified registered mail.

This same thing has been happening to me for 4 years on two accounts that are not mine, opened in 2 states I don't live in nor have ever lived in. I dispute they remove and then they reappear again.

I sent both CAs a validation letter via certified mail, signature required
I sent the OCs notice that this was identity theft and requested they send me ALL information on the accounts, the contract, signatures, what financial institution was used if the accounts had ever been paid on etc, address accounts opened at.

I never received any info from either OC or CA on these because they were obviously sent to the address where the accounts were opened. One CA called me the very day I put a fraud alert with the CRAs.

After doing the above with the CAs and OCs, I sent Experian an ITS letter along with a complaint in court legal format ready to file if needed.

If the account was opened fraudulently, the OC is required to send you all the information OR remove it from your credit report.

Best of luck. I must say that I mailed all the info last week because I was screaming mad that they reinserted it yet again. I am all done playing their games.

This is a new one for me. How so? I dispute things online all the time. If they don't respond, then I step up to CRMM, but why not take advantage of the free option first?
